The worst hours to visit Chichen Itza is between 11 am and 3 pm when most of the tour buses arrive.

The worst day to visit Chichen Itza is on Sundays when every person with a valid ID from México can get it for free.

Another bad option that mostly depends on you, is on the Chichen Itza Equinox because it may get very crowded. If you want to see it, I recommend visiting the site one or two days before and after. You can still enjoy the effect, but less crowds.
